TRS and BJP trade charges

With electioneering for 17 Lok Sabha drawing closer, principle parties in the Telangana state are engaged in trading serious allegations and counter allegations against each other.

The BJP, which sees an outside opportunity to win couple of seats, where it has thrown a challenge to the ruling TRS, leaving no stone unturned to attack the government headed by K Chandrasekhara Rao for hoodwinking people with false promises.

The BJP party state unit president K Laxman on Saturday, reminded the people how KCR had gone back on his promise to make a dalit as CM, if new state is carved out.

“You (CM KCR) promised that you will make a Dalit Chief Minister, if Telangana state is carved out.  What happened to that promise?  Have you not confine all powers of governance to your family members, forgetting the promise made to the Dalits and other weaker sections,” he asked.

In the same breath, Laxman also reminded that KCR, who promised to remain in state for development, is now ambitious plans to get into national politics, handing over the baton to his son, KTR.  “Is he  not greedy of power?” Laxman wanted people of the state to ponder.

Responding sharply to the BJP’s allegation, the TRS Working President K T Ramarao, blamed the Modi-Shah led BJP is playing ‘divisive’ politics.  Addressing a gathering during his road show, KTR said the BJP, which claims as custodians of Hindus, rakes it up the issue only before elections to polarize people.

He appealed to the people not to be carried away with the BJP’s tall claims as the nation pushed into difficult times on all fronts by Modi-led NDA government at the Centre, and needed to relieved from its clutches.

KTR said only a non-BJP and non-Congress government at the Centre alone can help the nation and its people do lot of good.

He said BJP can only boast of protectors and strong believers of Hindu cultures.

But, KTR says he is also a Hindu, but never ever hate other communities.  He reminded the people that his father too believe our age-old Hindu customs and reminded of ‘yagnas’ being conducted by KCR for state and its people good.

At the same time, he said, KCR had also respected other communities faiths and beliefs.  That’s why he said majority of minorities support his father and government.
