Tough days ahead for Jagan Mohan Reddy!

YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, who left no stone unturned to become the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, has finally achieved his target. After a landslide victory in the assembly and Lok Sabha elections, Jagan is all set to swear-in as the CM, on 30th of this month.

The nine promises, which YSRCP named it as Navaratnas, have been mentioned in YSRCP manifesto, and as the party won, Jagan is bound to fulfill all such promises in the next five years.

To fulfill a few of the promises from Navaratnas, the state government needs a minimum of Rs. 50000 crores, and adding to it, the state is in severe debts now.

The biggest promise Jagan made during the elections was liquor prohibition, which is the major source of revenue for any state government across the country. He promised to confine liquor only to the five star hotels in the state. This could be a major challenge to the new government, as it is extremely risky for any government to forgo such large amount of revenue from liquor and still run the government by fulfilling the promises, that require thousands of crores.

For instance, apart from liquor Rs. 12500 financial assistance to farmers plus crop insurance premium, Loan Waivers to Dwacra Women, Rs. 15,000 each to all women who send their kids to schools would alone cost 50000 Crore to the government. The above mentioned three promises have to be implemented from the very next minute, Jagan completes his swearing-in ceremony.

Though the other promises in Navaratnas like construction of 25 lakh houses, loans waiving to self-help groups etc could be delayed, but all such promises are cash-demanding.

If at all Jagan fails or at least delays in implementing any of the promises he mentioned in Navaratnas, then it be a right chance for the opposition party to go against YSRCP. It should be seen, whether Jagan lives up to the expectations of the people or not.
