As the nation continues to battle the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic, the Centre on Monday said that people should start wearing masks inside their homes as well, and not invite guests.
Addressing the media, NITI Aayog member (Health) Dr V.K. Paul said if there is a Coronavirus positive person inside the house, they must wear the mask to prevent other family members from getting infected.
“If there is Covid-19 positive case in the family, it is very important that the person wears a mask even indoors because the virus can spread to others in the home. I would rather go on to say that the time has come that we start wearing a mask at home even otherwise,” Dr VK Paul said.
Meanwhile, the Centre also asked the people to isolate immediately if they have symptoms related to Covid-19.
Regarding the same, Dr Randeep Guleria, Director, AIIMS New Delhi asked people not to wait for the reports to come and there is a chance that RT-PCR tests can be negative, although he or she has the symptoms.
