Thyrocare MD Velumani claims that antibodies battle against covid-19 more than anything

In a recent one-on-one interaction via virtual interview, Thyrocare MD Velumani shared that the good news is the presence of antibody in the circulation. The best battle can be achieved by the presence of this antibody immunising against Covid-19. “As per my assumption or wild guess, 10000 people per death have had exposure to Covid-19, but probably did not get infected. We fight it not by anyway or anything else but by immunity”.

He further said that there are only 20 deaths per million in India whereas our western counterparts reported 400 deaths per million infected covid-19 patients. Since 150 days the most pressing question to be answered was “why our western cousins have more death rate than India!?. It is today evident that India has slightly higher immunity than the western countries owing to the high young population”.

Dr. Velumani also shared on twitter about this today morning. The tweet read:
“Innocence or ignorance say that 1. Antibody cannot protect or 2. May not be forever . Human In last 10,000 yrs did not have drug or vaccine to fight against 1000s of pathogens. Only Antibodies, Lymphocytes protected us”. He further added that high number of tests improved the statistics.
