While many companies are contending hard to launch their vaccines against covid-19, Cambridge University came up with a ground breaking futuristic discovery of a novel potential vaccine candidate.
The University of Cambridge in the UK is taking steps to make available the latest vaccine against the corona virus! The university says experiments on humans with the vaccine candidate, known as DIOS-Covax2, could begin this year. “We are developing the vaccine to battle SARS, MERS, SARS-COV-2 and all other types of corona viruses,” said Professor Jonathan Heeney, head of the Laboratory of Viral Zonotics at Cambridge University and founder of DIOSYnvax said.
It has suggested that corona viruses can enter humans from any animal other than bats, due to which the genetic sequences of the respective viruses are embedded by the scientists in the vaccine candidate ‘Dios-Covax-2’.
The approach to develop this inoculation is based on 3D computer modelling of the SARS-CoV-2 (covid-19) virus structure. The professor stated that the team is examining for the chinks in its armour, crucial pieces of the virus that can be arranged to construct the vaccine to propel the immune response precisely. This vaccine can be administered pain-free without a needle into the skin through a spring-powered jet injection.
