The 93rd Academy Awards ceremony, presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, honoured the best films of the year 2020 and early 2021.
The event took place in Los Angeles at both Union Station and the Dolby Theatre on Sunday, two months later than originally planned, because of the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on cinema.
This is the first time the award ceremony was held in two areas due to Covid. Only celebrities without spectators were scheduled to attend the ceremony. Interestingly, the drama film ‘Nomadland’ won three awards, the most of the night, including Best Picture. At 83 years old, Anthony Hopkins became the oldest Best Actor winner.
