Temples to remain open after lockdown

Governments across the nation that have restricted pilgrimage to temples in the wake of the corona effect and lockdown strike have seem to bring a relief to the devotees after a long hiatus. Currently, the priests performing out daily poojas are being allowed as per the norms. Owing to the gradual deregulations being implemented at certain areas across the country, the ministry is looking at the precautions to be taken and eventually permit temple authorities to remain open for devotees.

However, without permitting special poojas it is only going to sanction the darshan to the visitors. Officials estimate that presumably a large number of devotees would assemble in one place for a long time if special worship is permitted and physical distancing is not possible. Many would be vulnerable to the virus transmission for the very reason.

The government has also restricted halt at the temples which has room facilities. Other pilgrimage centers, including Thirumala, Srisailam, Srikalahasti, Telangana, Vemulavada, Yadadri, Basara etc are also instructed to not provide rooms to the devotees. Temple authorities have been directed to use sanitizer tunnels at the temple to prevent the spread of the virus, which could help to infiltrate any likely infection. Care will be taken to observe the social distancing while maintaining large queues.
