The government of Tamil Nadu recently passed an order, permitting 100% seating occupancy in movie theatres and multiplexes. Now, Telugu Film Producers Council(TFPC) has requested the governments of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to pass similar orders.
TFPC wrote a letter to the governments of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, requesting permission to increase seating occupancy in movie theaters and multiplexes from 50% to 100%.
The producers council cited the government of Tamil Nadu’s precedent pertaining to 100% occupancy in movie theatres.
“Increasing the seating occupancy will help the management of cinema theatres/multiplexes to meet the necessary expenditure for maintanence purposes,” read the letter.
There are over 5 Telugu films gearing up for release during the coming Sankranthi season and it would be a huge boost to them if the state governments permit theatre occupancy.
