The Andhra Pradesh government has been giving continuous nightmares to the Telugu Film Industry, and it has become more than common knowledge by now. The AP government, against all requests, and even against the orders of the AP High Court, decided to make sure that ticket prices are low in the state.
On the other hand, the Telangana government seems to be coming to the rescue of Tollywood, with Chief Minister KCR having told Home department officials to approve the requests made by Tollywood producers, to increase the price of tickets in the state. From now on, the minimum ticket price for AC halls in the state if Rs. 50, and the maximum price is Rs. 150, excluding GST.
For multiplexes, the minimum price is Rs. 100+GST and the maximum is Rs. 250+GST. For recliner seats in single screen theatres, the price is Rs. 200 + GST and in multiplexes, it is Rs. 300+GST. The theatres are also allowed to collect maintenance charges of Rs. 5 per ticket (AC) and Rs. 3 per ticket (non AC).
