Breaking: Tamil Star Comedian Vivek Passed Away

A day after joining a hospital due to a cardiac arrest, Tamil actor-comedian and Padma Shri awardee Vivek has passed away at 4.45 am in a Chennai hospital on Saturday.

This is indeed a great blow to the South film industry to lose a talented actor who has worked in more than 220 films.

According to doctors, Vivek had a 100% blockage in the left anterior descending artery vessel, which led to a massive cardiac arrest. He was critical and on ECMO support. However, the doctors revealed that the heart arrest was not linked to the Covid-19 vaccination.

Vivek was admitted on Friday morning and he underwent an emergency coronary angiogram followed by angioplasty in SIMS hospital.

Vivek is known as ‘Chinna Kalaivaanar’. In 2009, he was awarded the Padma Shri. He is survived by his wife and two daughters. Meanwhile, several actors across film industries expressed their condolences on social media.
