The 68th National Film Awards ceremony was held on Friday at the Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. The prestigious award ceremony, which was organised to honour the best that Indian cinema in the year 2020, saw South stars Suriya and his wife Jyothika receive the top awards for their much-acclaimed film ‘Soorarai Pottru’, which was released in 2020.
Suriya shared the Best Actor award with Bollywood star Ajay Devgn, who delivered a praise-worthy performance in Tanhaji.
Soorarai Pottru was named the best film of the year and Jyothika received the award as she produced this flick. Aparna Balamurali won the Best Actress award, also for Soorarai Pottru. Not only this, but the Sudha Kongara directorial also won Best Screenplay and Best Background Score.
