Starring Surya in the lead role, Aakasam Nee Hadduraa is directed by Sudha Kongara who shot to fame with Guru. The film is based on the life journey of Air Deccan founder GR Gopinath. Here’s our review of the biographical drama.

Story:

Chandra Mahesh(Surya) suffers a personal problem following which he aspires to make air travel economically accessible to common public. He comes up with a perfect plan to make air travel economically feasible but his efforts go unnoticed. Incidentally, Mahesh discuses about his plan with Paresh(Paresh Rawal), one of the leading businessmen in air travel industry. Paresh now tries to stop Mahesh in his tracks as he is against economical air travel. The rest of the story unveils Mahesh’s never-ending efforts to make air transportation feasible.

What about on-screen performances?

The casting for this film is absolutely spot on. Each and every actor does full justice to their respective roles. Suriya delivers an astounding performance as he shoulders the film with his mature acting. His performance is of top quality and the makes the viewer connect with the film almost instantly. This goes down as one of Suriya’s finest performances till date. Aparna Balamurali is good in female lead role. Senior actors like Mohan Babu, and Paresh Rawal are at their usual best.

What about off-screen talents?

The director Sudha Kongara picks an emotionally moving subject and laces it with heart touching moments. Every aspect of the film, including the story, narrative and character designing is commendable. But the screenplay is a tad patchy in the second half as predictability kicks in. On the whole, Sudha does succeed in narrating the story in a touching manner.

Niketh Bommireddy’s cinematography is pure class and so is GV Prakash’s music. The songs and background score leave a long-lasting impression on the viewers. Satish Suriya’s editing is crisp.

What’s hot?

Suriya’s spellbinding performance
Heart touching story
Superb first half
Emotional connect
Gripping climax
Excellent direction
Visuals and Music

What’s not?

A slightly stretched second half
Repetitive scenes
Under-cooked comedy

Verdict:

Aakasam Nee Haddhura is, without a doubt, one of the best OTT releases since the imposition of lockdown. The film is very relatable, thanks to its social theme and realistic narrative. This film is packed with emotions through and through.

Watch or not?: Don’t miss it.
