It is learned that Singer Sunita posted a video on Facebook informing that she was infected with corona, which soon went viral. But few netizens backlashed at her and criticized immorally, while few of her fans wished for her speedy recovery.
One of the users said, “Now what do we do if you get corona .. Are you using this for publicity too ?? Do you need it?”, while another user humiliated Sunitha by saying not to gain sympathy and criticized her for speaking Telugu by avoiding English.
The singer appeared to be offended by the negative remarks from netizens.
She responded back to the hatred on facebook with a heartbreaking post in Telugu, “Hello everyone. Thanks to all my fans who responded to the video I posted and wished me well. This video is being checked on YouTube. Good .. I sing songs in Telugu as well as Tamil and Kannada so the fans are talking to me from there too. I spoke in English to notify a wide range of audience about the health condition at once”.
She added saying that many people in the society assumed themselves as devil advocates and started judging her. They sidelined the actual matter and said things like “Don’t you know Telugu..go to hospital and die if you get corona”, “Don’t do this for publicity” etc.
Sunitha further said in a heart wrenching write up -“I choose to forbid saying anything about my experiences and awareness related to covid-19. Don’t know what more i will have to listen to..What happened is more than enough.” and said ‘God bless you’ to her fans by dropping an emoji.
