Raj Tarun and Varsha Bollamma’s youthful drama, Stand Up Rahul has hit the screens today. Let’s check how it is.

Story:

Stand Up Rahul revolves around the life story of an easy-go-lucky guy Rahul( Raj Tarun) who has dream of becoming Stand Up comedian. What happens when a girl named Shriya Rao (Varsha Bollamma) enters into his life? How is Rahul’s parents story interlinked with the proceedings, forms the crucial crux.

On-screen performances:

Raj Tarun’s makeover as a trendy guy is good. His hairdo, mannerisms and styling are done nicely and apt for the film’s genre.

Heroine Varsha Bollamma yet again impresses with her performance. Her chemistry with Raj Tarun is showcased in a decent manner.

Actress Indraja, actor Murali Sharma are okay in their roles as a seperated parents of the hero. Other artists who did supporting roles are decent in their roles.

Off-screen talents:

Cinematography by Sreeraj Raveendran is good as he captured the entire film in a beautiful way. His lighting and camera frames are done nicely. Editing by Ravi Teja Girijala is okay.

Music by Sweekar Agasthi registers. While all the songs are audible on screen, his background score is apt for the film’s youthful genre. Production values for this limited budget movie are good.

Santo, the writer and director for the film has come up with a youthful concept and tried to present in by interlinking the proceedings with the hero’s passion and his seperated parents story. While his writing is okay, Santo struggled to executed the film in a gripping manner. If Santo would have worked on the screenplay version, the result would have been even better.

Positive Points:

  • Premise
  • Performances

Negative Points:

  • Uneven narration
  • Lack of proper scene order

Verdict:

In an overview, Stand Up Rahul is a romantic family drama that has a few engaging moments but lack of connectivity and flow in the narrative makes the film a below-average fare.
