All is well between TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, till the former was happy with the special package. But just before the elections, Naidu intensified his fight for the special status and went severely against Modi.
Aggrieved over this, Modi started targeting TDP and became one of the reasons for Naidu to step down from the Chief Minister’s chair.

Now, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy has promised to fight for the special status and put the proposal in front of Modi, as many times as he could. As promised, the dynamic CM is also doing it. Even in the recently held NITI Aayog meeting, Jagan raised the issue and also circulated detailed reports of it, which irritated the PM.
So to escape the special status issue, the BJP has left with the only option of forming the government in AP, or else, any other regional parties, be it YSRCP, TDP or even Janasena, would stress on the special category status and thus try to increase the negativity on BJP among the public.
As TDP terribly failed in bringing the special status, even as the opposition party, it may not force the YSRCP for it. So Jagan is left all alone to fight against Modi and if at all he achieves it, then the credit will obviously be owned by Jagan himself and not BJP, just like how Telangana formation credit was owned by TS CM KCR, instead of Congress, which actually granted it.
