Special status: Jagan cheating AP people!

It seems, the Andhra Pradesh government is completing neglecting the special category status issue.

Before forming the government, the YSRCP has raised its voice loudly for special status and promised to achieve it, if at all, the people offer them 25 MP seats. Believing in the party, the public offered a bumper majority in the state and gave 22 MP seats. Now, after forming the government, Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy who is supposed to be bound to his promise is trying to keep it aside.

Right after forming the YSRCP government in AP, Jagan said that he can just request the Centre for special status, but it may be tough to keep pressure on it, as the BJP government has witnessed a thumping victory across the country.

Even the Central minister Nirmala Seetharaman said that the Centre is not even considering special category status issue. The state government, which is supposed to go against Prime Minister Modi on the statement, has maintained mum, hinting that the AP government is not in a mood to fight with the Centre.

Jagan has been stressing on the special status issue since 2014 and said that his party’s main motto after forming the government in 2019 would be the same. For achieving it, Jagan performed hunger strike, called for bundhs, a few of the YSRCP MPs even resigned from their posts. But the reason for the party’s silence now is confusing many. If it continues further, then even Jagan may have to face the similar fortune of what is Chandrababu Naidu facing now.
