Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp services around the world have been restored. The social media services were paralyzed around the world from 9 pm on Monday night.
Nearly six hours into an outage that paralyzed the platforms, the services were restored from 4 am on Tuesday. Facebook has apologized for the disruption of services on this occasion. “We apologize to the millions of people around the world who depend on us and those who run the business. We are happy to be back online with the restoration of our services that came to a standstill. Thank you for cooperating with us,” Facebook posted on Twitter.
Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram apps going dark caused a stir around the world. Millions of people who relied on these were perplexed as to why this happened. There are about 41 crore Facebook users in India. WhatsApp is used by about 53 crore people. Instagram clients are over 21 crores.
However, the social media giants said that there is no evidence that user data was compromised as a result of this downtime.
