South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA) recently announced its nominations for 2020. The prestigious award ceremony, which was suspended last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, will be held on September 11 and 12 in Hyderabad.
Out of all, the Tamil film ‘Soorarai Pottru’ starring Suriya has topped the list with a maximum of 14 nominations. Next on the list is Allu Arjun’s ‘Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo’ and Mahesh Babu’s ‘Sarileru Neekevvaru’ with 12 nominations. Ayyappanum Koshiyum (Malayalam) is also leading in 12 categories. Besides these films, Love Mocktail and Popcorn Monkey Tiger & French Biryani (Kannada) are leading the SIIMA Nominations for 2020.
The most popular awards show had also announced its nominations for 2019. Maharshi (Telugu), Asuran (Tamil), Yajamana (Kannada) and Kumbalangi Nights (Malayalam) are leading the SIIMA Nominations for 2019 in the respective languages.
Earlier, the ceremony was held in many foreign venues of Dubai, Malaysia, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Singapore. The award show is bestowed to celebrate the artistic and technical achievements of the south Indian film industry.
