Chief Justice of India, NV Ramana, visited Hyderabad today, for the first time after he took over as the CJI, for the inauguration of the International Centre for Commercial Arbitration and Mediation Centre at Ashok Vihar, Banjara Hills in Hyderabad. On the occasion, he praised Telangana Chief Minister KCR, saying that KCR fulfilled his dream in just two months.
IT minister KT Rama Rao, Law minister A Indrakaran Reddy, TS High Court Chief Justice Hima Kohli and other top judicial officers were present for the inauguration as well. Speaking at the event, NV Ramana said that he proposed to set up this project in Hyderabad on June 18, 2021, and praised KCR for making it a reality by providing all facilities in just two months.
Ramana said that all multi-national companies are currently forced to go to London or Singapore for arbitration to settle their disputes, but can now come to Hyderabad with the establishment of the International arbitration centre here in Hyderabad. He also urged all the multi-national companies in the country to make full use of the centre.
