In a shocker, an RTC bus has been stolen in Hyderabad in the late hours of Tuesday and the officials had noticed it only on the next day.
Reportedly, the Metro Express bus that was stolen, belongs to Kushaiguda depot and used to commute between Gowliguda and ECIL on a regular basis. It was parked at Kushaiguda depot as usual on Tuesday and was believed to be stolen during the late hours of the same day.
A case has been filed regarding the issue, at Afzalgunj police station and the investigation is on. According to officials, the bus was identified on CCTV footage at Toopran. National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is also alerted to ensure that it is not smuggled out of Telangana state. Adding to it, all the petrol bunks have been alerted about the issue, anticipating that the bus would stop at any bunk for the refueling.
In 2010, a similar incident took place in the United Andhra Pradesh. An RTC bus went missing at MGBS bus station in Hyderabad and was later found at a petrol bunk at Narsapur in Medak district.
