Shashikala, who was released from jail last month, has once again appeared in the headlines. She approached the Chennai court seeking the return of her post as the Chief Secretary in the AIADMK party.
She has filed a petition in the court against Chief Minister Palaniswami and Deputy Chief Minister Panniruselvam.
She has done this in the backdrop of the forthcoming elections in Tamil Nadu in a few days.
It is learned that Shashikala was released from jail on January 27 after serving four years in jail in an Rs. 66 crore inappropriate assets case.
In 2017 itself, she went to the court on the resolution brought by Palani, claiming that she was being ousted from office.
Now, once again, she approached the court and asked for an immediate hearing of the petition. The trial is set to begin on March 15.
