The much hyped Amazon Prime Video series ‘The Family Man 2’ controversy doesn’t seem to have dampen even as the release date nears. It is well known, post the release of Family Man 2 trailer, a massive backlash and disapproval sparked on social media where the Tamil audience expressed their objection over it. An objection from Tamil government was notified to makers, claiming the content was “condemnable, objectionable and malicious contents” in the trailer.
After demanding a ban on the release of the series (June 4), #ShameonYouSamantha is now on Twitter trends.
A sect of Tamil speaking audience has expressed their disgust with the makers of the series with their conjectures. “By releasing this web series FamilyMan2 in Hindi psychologically they try to portray Tamils as a Terrorist in Hindi Speaking peoples Mind,” wrote one user with the tag.
Another twitterati using the hashtag #ShameonYouSamantha complained on Sam, saying she should have to know the sentiments of the Tamil people and as a fan it was really disappointing for him.
The trailer of the series has already triggered vehement and widespread demur from the people of Tamil Nadu and political parties in the state. Now the trending hashtag is creating apprehensive feeling that web show could be boycotted in Tamil nadu or could face an impediment heavily in it’s business.
