Samantha’s maiden web series The Family Man 2 has landed in a huge controversy even before its digital premieres. Tamil groups are demanding an apology from the makers of the show and asking for a ban on it. These groups say the series sheds bad light on Tamil culture and projects them as militants.
Incidentally, Samantha has stopped promoting the series. She is occasionally re-sharing an odd post shared by the team of The Family Man 2 but not promoting it aggressively, as one would expect.
Samantha seems to have decided to keep mum on the series and the controversy. The senior actress appears to have taken a diplomatic stand an understandably so.
The second season will be premiering on 4th June. The creators Raj and DK had recently confirmed that they truly respect Tamil culture and have no intention of damaging the reputation of Tamilians through the series.
