Debut actor Harsh Kanumilli and heroine Simran Choudary’s film, Sehari under the direction of Gangasagar Dwaraka has hit the screens today. Let’s check how it is.

Story: Out of depression due to the breakup with his college mate, Varun(Harsh Kanumilli) a guy with no clarity in life decides to get arranged marriage to a girl named Aliya. During the engagement and wedding preparations, Varun gets attracted to Aliya’s elder sister Amulya (Simran Choudary). How will Varun Handel further circumstances? Will he marry Aliya or tilt towards Amulya? To know that, you have to catch the film in the theatres near you.

On-screen performances:

Sehari is Harsh’s debut film and the young actor impresses with his acting as a guy who lacks clarity on life. He portrayed the given role with so much ease and confidence.

Simran Choudhary is adorable on-screen and did justice to the given purposeful character. The chemistry between Harsh and Simran is an added advantage for the film.

While Abhinav Gomatam did hilarious comedy as the hero’s friend, music composer turned actor Koti did find a job as the hero’s father.

Off-screen talents:

Music composed by Prashanth R Vihari is refreshing and s major plus for the film.  Aravind Vishwanathan’s photography is good as he presented the entire movie on a colourful note. Editing by Ravi Teja Girijala is nice as he kept the runtime in limits. Production values for this tight-budget movie are good.

Ad filmmaker Gangasagar Dwaraka directs Sehari and he succeeded to an extent as a feature filmmaker.

Apart from acting, Harsh Kanumilli also provided story, screenplay and dialogues for the film. Though the film’s story is simple, Harsh made sure the screenplay version has enough youthful moments in it. But he would have taken care in writing the second proceedings in an even better manner as a couple of scenes during this time look dragged.

Positive Points:

  • Performances
  • Music

Negative Points:

  • The pace drops at regular intervals in the second half
  • Predictable concept

Verdict: In an overview, Sehari is a youthful drama that explores the story of a guy who has no clarity on his life. While Harsh Kanumilli performance and the first half are plus points for the film, a couple of dragged scenes in the second half stand tall as a demerit of Sehari. But till the film will end up as a one-time watch for the targetted youth audience.
