Scary and greedy private hospitals becoming vultures during the pandemic

The people in India are witnessing different slices of life in this pandemic period and everything has changed except the greediness of the private and especially corporate hospitals. These are genuine reports about how private hospitals are looting the people during this pandemic.

Two incidents, one in Somaji Guda and the other in Kondapur happened where the private hospitals rejected to offer a bed to two patients who were even tested negative for COVID-19. The hospital management asked the patents to pay Rs.10 lakhs and Rs.5 lakhs in advance to book a bed for their treatment.

It is known that during this COVID-19 the vacant beds in the hospitals are of high demand but this is nothing but daylight robbery from the corporate hospitals. In addition, they are providing a catalog for the patients who are about to admit and taking their consent as well as a chunk of money before the admission.

In those catalogs, the patient with a normal illness will be charged Rs. 30-50K per day in extra and the patient in ICU or suffering with the severe illness have to pay Rs. 60-70K along with the treatment bills. If the patient requires a ventilator, he will be charge no less than Lakh rupees per day. After setting such high prices, to get away from the tax burdens they are accepting only cash and no online payments and card payments are being accepted in many hospitals.

If the patient wants a receipt, he will be charged extra and the people who don’t care about receipt will be provided a discount as well. This is the scariest era we are living in where people have to die to pay these bills in order to live and these vultures are never getting tired of hunting the prey.
