SBI warns it’s customers against a fraudulent site

SBI said that the fraudsters have hatched new plans and techniques to trick people. ‘Please note that http://www.onlinesbi.digital is a fake website,’ SBI warned its customers.

Recently SBI alarmed people about the ongoing EMI fraud scheme during the lockdown period. Fraudsters are calling up customers with an offer of deferring the EMI payments, and trying to borrow card details and eventually the OTP. This has been apparently a very common bank fraud and banks have informed countless number of times to the customers via text saying that they never call them for their OTP.

State Bank of India (SBI) has an alert message for its customers. In a post on microblogging site Twitter, the bank said, “Fraudsters are using new ways and techniques to commit cybercrime. Here’s a new way people are scammed in India,” SBI said in a tweet.

The bank further shed light on this topic by explaining about the new illegal ways of cybercrime in which messages sent by the fraudsters match exactly with the SBI Net Banking page. With so much similarities to the real app, users get betrayed by these fake apps.

SBI also warned the customers to not click any such suspicious links or share any credentials and asked to delete it immediately. It said in case of such occurrences, they ought to promptly intimate the bank through email at epg.cms@sbi.co.in. also, phishing@sbi.co.in. Further, the bank has requested that individuals to report such messages to government cybercrime branch as well.
