Hero Satyadev’s new film, Godse under the direction of Gopi Ganesh Pattabhi has hit the screens today. Let’s see how it is.
Story:
Godse( Satyadev) who is frustrated with the corrupt system decides to take revenge on the politicians and business people who are habituated to give false promises to the public. Who is Godse? What is his backstory? Why he goes against the system, forms the crucial plotline of the film.
On screen Performances:
Satyadev did his part in a convincing manner. The way he portrayed the multi-layered character brings depth to the proceedings to an extent.
Actress Aishwarya Lekshmi is stunning in the role of a special branch police officer. Her intense act as a negotiation team member from the police department adds life to a few key scenes in the first half.
Actors who did supporting roles are apt in their respective roles. Arjun Reddy fame Jia Sharma is decent in her extended cameo role as Godse’s wife.
Off-screen Talents:
Music by Sunil Kashyap is good as his background score is impressive at parts. All the songs are audible on screen.
Editing by Sagar Udagandla is fine as he made the film’s runtime short and crisp. The cinematography work by Suresh Sarangam is cool as he captured the film in a decent way.
Production values and production design by C Kalyan’s CK Screens are good.
Coming to the direction part, director Gopi Ganesh Pattabhi did a decent job in exposing the facts behind the shell companies being established by the rich businessman by using political power. How the general public will have the side effects due to suitcase companies.
Positive Points:
Negative Points:
Verdict:
In an overview, Godse is a social drama that explores the defects in our system. While Satyadev did superb job as a responsible Indian citizen who raised voice against the corrupt politicians, the outdated presentation in the second half comes as a major Minus of the film.
