Samantha’s whopping remuneration for Shakuntalam

For the unversed, Samantha will be playing the female lead in Shakuntalam, which was launched very recently. The makers say this mythological love drama is a pan-India project and it will be mounted a big scale.

Coming to the topic, Samantha has apparently pocketed a big fat pay check for agreeing to star in Shakuntalam.

The producers had to shell out as much as Rs 2.5 crores to bring Samantha on-board for the project. This makes her one of the highest paid actresses down south.

The makers opine that a star actress like Samantha will boos the business prospects of the film and that is the reason why they roped her in by paying a whopping amount.

We had already reported that Shakuntalam unit will be commencing shoot from the end of this month.

Malayali actor Dev Mohan will be playing the male lead in the love drama. Gunasekhar will be helming the project and his wife Neelima will produce it. Dil Raju will be presenting the film.
