Samantha Akkineni is undoubtedly one of the most popular actresses in India. Her craze, which is mostly limited to South India, has spread throughout the entire country after she played the role of a Sri Lankan Tamil rebel in The Family Man Season-2.
Now, the latest news is that Samantha is planning to take a break from movies after continuously working for more than a decade in the industry. Needless to say, the star actress has been busy with back-to-back projects even after the marriage. Seems like the actress decided to think about her family taking a much-needed break from professional career.
Samantha’s upcoming releases are Shaakuntalam, a mythological drama film, directed by Gunasekhar and Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal directed by Vignesh Shivan.
In Shaakuntalam, she will be playing the titular role of Shakuntala and while Dev Mohan plays King Dushyanta. Neelima Guna and Dil Raju backed this film under the banner of Gunaa Teamworks and Dil Raju Productions, respectively.
On the other side, Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal stars Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara and Samantha Akkineni in the lead roles. The film is jointly produced by Vignesh Shivan, Nayanthara and Lalit Kumar under the banners of Rowdy Pictures and Seven Screen Studio.
