The state of Andhra Pradesh is one among those states that are reporting a high number of cases constantly. The state’s rural areas are reporting more and more cases every day, which has driven the state to sort to converting RTC buses into covid facilities in those areas where there are no proper hospitals or other medical facilities.
On Thursday, Transport Minister Perni Venkataramaiah said that RTC sleeper buses, equipped with oxygen cylinders, would be stationed in forest areas, which lack adequate medical and health infrastructure, to help the people suffering from coronavirus in those areas. Ten sleeper buses have been equipped with these facilities so far. Buttayigudem, KR Puram and other places under the forest agency areas of the state are the areas that have been equipped with these buses so far.
Andhra Pradesh has been reporting over 17,000 cases every day, with at least 100 people succumbing to the virus on a daily basis.
