RRR true Oscar Campaign Spend Revealed by SS Karthikeya

The movie RRR has been making waves since its release, it even won the Oscar award for Naatu Naatu song in original song category. However, there have been rumors circulating about how much money the film’s team has spent on its Oscar campaign, and SS Karthikeya, the movie’s line producer and son of SS Rajamouli, recently gave clarity on this issue in his recent interview. SS Karthikeya lead the oscars campaign for RRR movie.

Karthikeya began by stating that no amount of money can buy people’s love, and that RRR’s success was due to the fact that people genuinely enjoyed the film. He went on to explain that the decision to release the movie in English was made after it became a massive success in multiple languages. Originally, they had planned to screen the movie in 60 theaters for just one day, but its popularity meant that it ran for over 30 days.

Interestingly, Karthikeya noted that the film’s appeal extended beyond just Indian audiences. Non-Indians also enjoyed the movie, as it had not only the musical elements that one would expect from Indian cinema but also featured strong elements of heroism. Many Westerners even mentioned that they enjoyed the action sequence where Ram Charan sat on the shoulders of Jr NTR.

However, despite the film’s massive success, the team was disappointed when they did not receive an official entry from India for the Oscars. There were rumors circulating that the team had spent a significant amount of money on their Oscar campaign, but Karthikeya provided a breakdown of the costs.

The team had budgeted 5 crores INR for the Oscar campaign, which they planned to spend in three phases. However, after the movie received nominations, they ended up spending more money than initially planned. In total, they spent 8.5 crores INR on the campaign.

Karthikeya also revealed that several members of the RRR team, including Ram Charan, Jr NTR, and Rahul Sipliganj, had received invites to the Oscar committee, while Chandrabose and MM Keeravani had been nominated. Additionally, while some members of the film crew, family, and friends were required to purchase tickets for the Oscar event, the team had officially purchased several tickets at a cost of $1500 each and four other tickets at $750 each.

In conclusion, the RRR team’s Oscar campaign was not cheap, with a total cost of 8.5 crores INR. However, Karthikeya emphasized that the film’s success was not due to their campaign but rather to the fact that people genuinely enjoyed the movie. Despite not receiving an official entry from India, the RRR team can still take pride in the fact that their film has received international recognition and praise.
