It is known that Telugu movie buffs expected that SS Rajamouli’s RRR would be chosen as India’s official entry to Oscars 2023. However, the jury nominated the Gujarati film Chhello Show (Last Film Show) as the official entry from India.
With this, the makers are pushing the Ram Charan and Jr NTR starrer under ‘For your consideration (FYC) campaign. As per reports, they have submitted the movie in all 14 categories.
The categories in which RRR is going to be officially submitted for Oscars are: Best Motion Picture, Best Director (SS Rajamouli), Best Actor (Jr NTR and Ram Charan), Best Supporting Actor and Actress (Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt). Naatu Naatu as Best Original Song, while MM Keeravani’s name has been nominated by the makers for Best Original Score.
Apart from them, RRR will have a go at Best Cinematography, Best Original Screenplay, Best Costume Design, Best Production Design, Best Sound, Best Film Editing and Best Makeup & Hairstyling.
It is heard that director SS Rajamouli will stay in the USA for the next couple of months for the Oscar campaign. RRR, which is set against the lives of two Telugu freedom fighters, Alluri Seetharama Raju and Komaram Bheem, is produced by DVV Danayya.
