Ross Taylor bids emotional adieu to cricket

New Zealand cricket legend Ross Taylor has ended his international career after the completion of the final ODI against the Netherlands on Monday at Seddon Park in Hamilton.

Taylor, one of the finest batters in New Zealand cricket history, played 112 Test matches, 235 ODIs, and 102 T20Is for the Kiwis in a career that lasted 16 years. He made his ODI and T20I debut for the Black Caps in 2006 while making his maiden Test appearance in 2007 against South Africa.

The right-handed batter played a critical part in the amazing success achieved by New Zealand cricket in the last decade.

Ahead of his last match at Hamilton, Ross Taylor is seen controlling his emotions when players from both sides appeared at the centre for the pre-match rituals. He was also accompanied by his three children – Mackenzie, Jonty, and Adelaide.

Meanwhile, several cricketers from different eras came together to extend their good wishes to the 38-year-old on retirement. New Zealand Cricket shared a video of the same on social media, which featured Rahul Dravid, Virat Kohli, Daniel Vettori, among others.
