A lot of industries flocked to establish their factories in Andhra Pradesh, during the reign of TDP, last term. However, the picture turned out to be the exact opposite, once YSRCP came to power. Even without, and before Coronavirus, no industries showed any interest in being established in AP.
Reliance industries was highly interested in establishing itself in AP, and so was the previous government. For this purpose, the TDP government even allotted lands for the company to establish its industry. Reliance even paid an amount of Rs. 4 Crores for these lands.
After the YSRCP came to power, it looked as though the government did not feel the need to have any industries in the state, because of which it took back the lands given to Reliance industries.
Even Reliance did not put up any fight with the YSRCP government to take back the lands, and looked very happy to walk away from the project. All of that was in the past, though, as no one is now coming forward to give any kind of loans to the AP government, whose economy is dwindling more and more by the day.
As a result, the AP government is said to have requested Reliance to come back, and is also said to have been ready to allot lands to the company in Puttur. But Reliance is said to have said no to the offer, not being interested in establishing any industry in AP.
Reliance is now said to be demanding the government to give back the 4 Crores it had initially paid for the lands that the TDP government had given them. Considering the fact that the AP government is in a huge financial crunch, and that Reliance is not looking forward to coming back to AP, this is surely going to be a tough task for the AP government.
