Afghanistan fell into the hands of the Taliban. Unable to withstand the onslaught of the Taliban who entered Kabul, Afghan President Ashraf Ghani left the country, handing over power to them.
Now, Afghan people are queuing up to leave the country as they fear the Taliban rule. The crash at Kabul airport also disrupted air services.
The events unfolding in Afghanistan are shocking the world. Afghan all-rounder Rashid Khan is very worried as the rebel forces capture his country. Reacting to the chaos in his nation, he wrote, “I’m not sleeping. I want peace,” Rashid Khan posted emojis as if praying to Allah.
“Dear World Leaders! My country is in chaos, thousand of innocent people, including children & women, get martyred every day, houses & properties are being destructed. A thousand families displaced… Don’t leave us in chaos. Stop killing Afghans & destroying Afghanistan. We want peace,” he tweeted a week ago.
Former England skipper Kevin Pietersen has said that Rashid Khan is worried about the situation in Afghanistan and he cannot get his family out of the country.
On the other side, the Taliban tried to convince the international community that their country people should not fear them, and they will not take revenge against those who helped the US-backed alliance.
