Owing to the fact that movie theaters might not open till the end of the year, the makers of medium budget Telugu films are contemplating a direct OTT release. Incidentally, even top digital streaming platforms are offering arguably good deals to the producers.
A few weeks ago, it was said that the makers of Ram’s Red were in talks with OTT platforms and were on the verge of completing a deal for the direct digital release of the film.
However, the latest updates are suggesting that Ram is against the direct OTT release of the action thriller. He feels the film has what it takes to pull the audience to the theaters. He is basking in the success of Ismart Shankar and scoring another box office hit will greatly improve his market.
Ram opines that Red will take him to the next league and asking the producer of Red, Sravanthi Ravikishore who is also his uncle to wait till theaters are functional.
Reportedly, Red is already in safe zone as the dubbing and digital rights have fetched a decent price. So, Ram is willing to play the waiting game for now.
Red has Kishore Tirumala at the helm. Nivetha Pethuraj and Malvika Sharma are playing lady leads.
