Director Puri Jagannadh is known for his identical hero characters. Every commercial hero, would love to be part of his films, for the kind of designing he does to his hero characters.
Now, even in his upcoming outing iSmart Shankar, Ram Pothineni is going to be seen as a typical Puri hero, where reckless and a mass attitude takes the cake. But the same is now inviting the criticisms too.
Recently, Kabir Singh movie had to face criticisms, as the hero character hits the heroine. When director Sandeep Reddy Vanga was questioned about the same, his reply further worsened the situation.
Meanwhile, in the recent trailer of iSmart Shankar, there was a dialogue, where Ram says that he will hit the heroine, at least once in a day after the marriage. While the dialogue is receiving backlash from the pseudo feminists, it is also being treated as Puri’s supportive statement on Sandeep’s comments.

On the other side, a section of people also say that, in spite of Kabir Singh issue’s heat is being felt in both Bollywood and Tollywood circles, even though Puri included the dialogue in the trailer of iSmart Shankar, indicates that the Pokiri director is only intending to get publicity out of it, but nothing else.
