YSRC government is trying to make changes in the existing policies to make sure the poor and the needy gets the maximum benefit. In this process, YSRC is stepping hard on some government professions. Recently, YSRC government appointed Sujatha Rao Committee to give a report on medical field in AP. The report which was submitted to the government has a very strong focus on banning private practice of government doctors. It seems that YS Jagan approved the report and we may expect that this rule may be in practice soon.
It is a well known fact that most of the doctors apply for government positions with the intention that they can happily earn through private practice while enjoying the government benefits. Poor and the needy at the government hospitals struggle with health issues and lack of doctors in the hospital. To avoid this scenario, YSRC might be taking this decision. On the other hand, the report requests the government to hike government doctors’ salary.
If this rule comes into picture, this would benefit the poor and the needy as the doctors will be available all the time in the hospitals. On the government doctors’ point of view, they may no longer have private practice which will cut down their personal revenue to major extent. This is may turn government doctors against YSRC just like how few government officials turned against the TDP for being hard on them, which eventually led to their downfall during YSR era.
It is a tough choice for YSRC but the government is aiming to implement it soon. Apart from this, around 2000 more diseases were being included in the Arogya Sri Scheme which would benefit people further.
