In a shocking incident, Shiva Nageswara Rao (55), priest of Shivalayam, was brutally killed on the temple premises in Tadimalla village of Nidadavolu Mandal in West Godavari district.
The priest was brutally assassinated by unidentified persons inside the temple, police said.
As per reports, the wife of Nageswara Rao was worried as her husband didn’t come home last night. She immediately provided information to family members, and they started searching for him. As they couldn’t find the vehicle of the priest at the temple premises, they thought that he might have gone on other work.
When he didn’t arrive in the morning, the family members went inside the temple and inspected it. They noticed the body in a pool of blood and immediately informed the police.
Police arrived at the scene and examined and collected details. The body was later shifted to a hospital for postmortem. A case has been registered, and the investigation is currently going on.
