South actress Pranitha Subhash recently posted a photo of her sitting at her husband Nithin Raju’s feet during a ritual. However, the picture sparked a debate on social media over whether the gesture was patriarchal in nature.
The issue caught the attention of Pranitha and now the actress has reacted to it. Defending the ritual, the diva said that she has believed in it since her childhood.
Addressing the negative reactions, she said, “Just because I’m an actor and the field is known for its glamour, does not mean that I cannot follow a ritual that I have grown up watching and completely believe in. I did the puja last year too when I was newly married but hadn’t shared the photo then.”
The actress added, “One can be forward thinking and modern, but that does not mean one forgets one’s roots.”
Pranitha Subhash married Bangalore-based businessman Nithin on May 30, 2021. The couple welcomed a daughter named Arna in June this year.
