Highlights: Ponniyin Selvan Pre-release event in Hyderabad

The Telugu pre-release event of Ponniyin Selvan took place in Hyderabad today, for which the entire cast and crew were in attendance. The film is all set to be released on September 30th, and the promotions for the film are under full swing. The movie is directed by ace director Mani Ratnam and is based on the Tamil novels of the same name, written by Kalki. The movie is being presented to the Telugu audience by popular producer Dil Raju, who was also present at the event. Anantha Sriram penned the Telugu lyrics for all the songs of the film, and was present at the event as well.

Ponniyin Selvan features an ensemble cast that includes Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Sarathkumar, Prakash Raj, Prabhu, Vikram Prabhu, Jayaram and so many others. The movie is about the legendary Chola dynasty and the politics during that period. Maniratnam has been intending to make the movie for quite some now, and has now finally managed to do so. AR Rahman is the music director for the film, the songs of which have already been received very well by the audience.

With the exception of Mani Ratnam, who is busy with the film’s release, the entire cast was present for the pre-release event, along with AR Rahman. Mani Ratnam’s wife and popular actor Suhasini Maniratnam was present at the event, representing him. Mani Ratnam sent his message via a video, where he spoke about the film and said that he hopes the Telugu audiences like the film and support it.

On the other hand, the entire cast of the film was received very well by the audience present at the event. There was an especially huge cheer for Trisha, Aishwarya Rai, Karthi, and Vikram, all of whom are very close to the Telugu audience. They all spoke about how much love and hard work went into making the movie, and said that the movie is going to cater to everyone and that the audience is going to love the film. Talking about the film, AR Rahman said that it was a pleasure working for the film, and thanked the audience for being a part of the event, and for all of their support.
