Legendary Telugu lyricist Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry passed away on Tuesday due to lung cancer-related complications. After the news of the 66-year-old lyricist’s sudden demise, Twitter was flooded with tributes for Seetharama Sastry from several celebs across the country.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed his condolences on the death of Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry. Taking to Twitter, the Prime Minister wrote, “Saddened by the passing away of the outstanding Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry. His poetic brilliance and versatility could be seen in several of his works. He made many efforts to popularise Telugu. Condolences to his family and friends. Om Shanti.”
The Prime Minister shared a picture of Seetharama Sastry in which we can see the late lyricist receiving the Padma Shri award from President Ram Nath Kovind. Many other celebrities have also expressed their condolences to the family via social media.
Sirivennela Sastry made his debut made his debut with Janani Janmabhoomi in 1984 and rose to fame with the song Vidhatha Thalapuna in K Viswanath directorial Sirivennela. Sastry has over 3000 songs to his credit.
