‘Phone tapping in AP’ Chandrababu writes PM Modi : What is happening ?

AP former Chief minister Chandra Babu Naidu wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi alleging that the AP government was resorting to massive phone tapping in order to perpetrate and foist their ‘Jungle Raj’ on all sections of the people in the State.

Naidu raised concerns over the safety of the opposition leaders, advocates, judges, journalists, and social activities during YS Jagan’s rule and urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to order an enquiry by a competent authority of the Government of India. In the letter, CBN clearly mentioned that the AP Government, along with some private persons are using sophisticated technology and illegal software to tap the cellphones of the above-mentioned categorial persons.

Most recently, some chief justices of high court and advocates suspected that their phones are being tapped and now Naidu’s letter to Modi created a storm in the state. Naidu said that these nefarious activities are a national security threat to the country and turning a blind eye towards this issue will pose a bigger threat to the sovereignty of the country.

Mr. Naidu reminded the PM that in Andhra Pradesh, many Constitutional institutions were under attack since the YSRCP came to power and the constitution was the least safeguarded thing under the YSRCP rule. He cited the attack on State Chief Election Commissioner (SEC), AP Public Service Commission (APPSC), verbal abuse on High Court judges (HC), and various other institutions to prove his statement.

Though there are no proofs as of now to support Naidu’s claims, it is a known fact that there are reports that the phones of some officials’ mobiles are under tapping and the Prime Minister needs to take this letter from the leader of the opposition very seriously to avoid any unwanted ruckus to happen in this COVID crisis.
