The Central Government has taken a key decision to expedite the covid vaccination process in India. The Union government has revealed that registration through the CoWIN portal is not mandatory for taking the vaccine. According to the report, anyone over the age of 18 can go to the nearest vaccination centre and get vaccinated.
The decision was taken after the Center noticed that there was a tremendous delay in the vaccination process due to online registrations. The central government said, as of the 13th of this month, 23.36 crore people have registered through the CoWIN app, out of which 16.45 crore have opted for onsite mode. On the other hand, the Union govt says that many people with fear and suspicions are not coming forward to get vaccinated.
