Veteran filmmaker K Raghavendra Rao under his directorial supervision is introducing Srikanth and Ooha’s son Roshan with a film titled, Pelli SandaD. Directed by Gowri Ronanki, the film has hit the screens today. Let’s see how it is.

Story:

Vashista( K Raghavendra Rao), a former basketball player starts narrating his life story to a rich businessman (Rajendra Prasad). Prominently, the film explores Vashista’s young age love story with the heroine Sahastra (Sree Leela). Where will Vashista meets Sahastra? What kind of hurdles will Vashista face in his love and life journey? Forms the crucial crux of the film.

On-screen performances:

Roshan shines in the lead role as young Vashista. His screen presence and handsome looks are a plus point for the film. Performances wise, Roshan gave a decent performance and his dialogue delivery is nice with some much clarity and grip on the Telugu language. On the flip side, Roshan should work on his on his facial expressions as his acting during the emotional scenes is not up to the mark.

Director K Raghavendra Rao gave a decent performance with his acting in the film. It is good to see the legendary director, who has directed more than 100 films doing acting on the screen.

New girl Sree Leela is beautiful and her chemistry with Roshan is adorable. Acting-wise, Sree Leela gave an okayish performance.

Prakash Raj as the heroine’s father is decent in his role. Other actors who acted in significant roles are fine with their performances.

Off-screen Talents:

Music by MM Keeravaani is alright as two songs are good. Cinematography by Sunil Kumar Nama is just okay. His visuals look dull at times.

Editing by Tammiraju is disappointing as it lacks sharpness.

Debut director Gowri Ronanki failed to handle the script in an effective manner which is a big minus for the film. As the story is a simple love drama, she would have working more on the scene order and the screenplay version to make things appealing.

Raghavendra Rao’s direction supervision also did not save the film. Most of the film looks predictable with outdated proceedings and fails to connect to this generation audience.

Verdict: In an overview, Pelli SandaD is a outdated romantic love drama that fails to impress the audience in every aspect. Though Roshan and Sree Leela make a good pair, the ages old storyline and treatment makes Pelli SandaD a disappointing watch during this festival season. We suggest to skip the film in the theaters and watch when aired on TV if you have enough time.
