Janasena party chief Pawan Kalyan has announced that Janasena will boycott Friday’s all-party meeting with the Election Commission.
He said that the SEC decision on the conduct of ZPTC and MPTC elections was unilateral. In protest, he said he will boycott the all-party meeting organized by the SEC on Friday.
Pawan questioned how the SEC, who has sent an invitation on Thursday evening, can announce immediately that the elections would be held as per the old notification.
He said that conducting polling on the 8th and announcing the results on the 10th of this month is undemocratic. Janasena has filed a petition in the High Court seeking fresh notification for the elections.
He said that Janasena is strongly opposing the SEC’s decision before the court’s verdict. Pawan said Janasena was of the view that this hasty decision of SEC is to benefit the ruling party.
