Parents to protest demanding fee regulation at schools in Telangana

Hyderabad: Fee regulation in private schools became a hot topic in the most recent times as the heavy fees are being considered to be burdensome to the parents of the students.

In this context, Hyderabad’s parents have felt dejected by the false promise made by Telangana Rastra Samithi in it previous civic ballot to enforce a fee regulation.

A father and mother of a student say, with respect to the 2016 civic polls, strict rules were framed by the administration to not hike any fee in 2020-21 academic year — to cease commercialisation of education— was an assured promise of the TRS during the polls. The G0 46 stated that private unaided schools affiliated to state, CBSC, ISCE should not hike the fee but it was increased.

Referring to the manifesto many parents in Hyderabad raised numerous complaints and made hue and cry but it’s learnt that government didn’t respond. After 4 years, nothing has happened as expected, mentioned Seema Agarwal, vice-president, Hyderabad School Parents’ Association (HSPA).

Many have even raised complaints about non-compliance of GO 46 that halts rising fee charges and urged them to collect fee on month-to-month basis for the academic year 2020-21.

This year as political parties are about to rally for GHMC elections, parents planned to protest from people’s plaza vowing to stand by the party which fixes the long standing issue.
