Parakala Prabhakar is one of the most highly intellectual and educated people in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Parakala has expressed his views on many aspects related to the state in the past, and now he is back with a documentary on the Capital of the state, titled “Rajadhani Vishadam” (Capital Tragedy).
While many are marketing this documentary to be Parakala’s views on the importance of Amaravati as the Capital of Andhra Pradesh, the content of the documentary is an entirely different story.
Parakala has shown the difficulties of the people living in rural areas, when they try to move to the Capital city, be it Hyderabad, Chennai, Vijayawada, or Amaravati. This is a topic that needs no introduction, as for several decades, we have all been seeing the various difficulties that these people have been facing.
While Parakala spoke about Amaravati in the documentary, he nowhere supported, nor spoke against Amaravati as the Capital. All he said was that there was no force by the government towards the farmers of Amaravati, in giving away their lands, and that the farmers did it willingly, which is why they are today fighting to make sure that the dream they saw will come true at any cost.
Parakala also proved that he had no legal restrictions, and proved that his duty was to just showcase the various difficulties that people face when trying to relocate to the Capital, from a remote area.
