Director Puri Jagannadh, who was supposed to direct iSmart Shankar with Vijay Devarakonda, had to miss the opportunity as the rowdy hero reportedly rejected the offer, due to the poor track record of the director.
In fact, it it tough to imagine any other hero in place of Ram Pothineni for iSmart Shankar, for the kind of stupendous energy he portrayed in the film. But finally, as the film registered as a massive hit at the box office and Puri is back on to the track, Vijay is now keen to team up with the Temper director.

As even Vijay faced a debacle with Dear Comrade, he is now keen to bounce back with a mass hit and as Puri already announced that he had registered the title Double iSmart, many are of the opinion that the sequel will have the Arjun Reddy star as the lead.
However, the official confirmation is yet to be out, but the “Puri Connects” has confirmed that there will be a film with Vijay Devarakonda. Puri Jagannadh along with Charmme Kaur will be producing the film. Further cast and crew details are expected to be out soon.
