O Saathiya Review: A Mediocre Love Drama

Movie Name O Saathiya
Star Cast Aryan Gowra, Mishti Chakraborty
Director Divya Bhavana
Producer Chandana Katta
Music Vinod Kumar
Run Time 2h 16m
Release Date 7 Jul, 2023

O Saathiya is a movie that was being promoted quite well for the past few weeks. The film has been released today and has Aryan Gaura in the lead role. Let’s see how the movie has turned out to be.

Story:

Arjun and Keerthy meet at their college while studying, and the two fall in love with each other quite soon. Everything seems to be going fine until one day when Keerthy suddenly goes missing. Why has Keerthy suddenly gone missing and will Arjun find her again, forms the rest of the story.

On-Screen Talents:

Leading actor Aryan tries his best, but the actor is not able to do a lot when it comes to scenes where a lot of depth is required. While he’s passable in the breezy and fun scenes

Leading lady Mishti Chakraborty brings out the spirit of an independent woman who belongs to the current generation in a pretty decent manner. However, she’s still not able to keep the audience’s focus on her or make the film any watchable.

The film has a decent supporting cast, who do their part dutifully but aren’t enough to make the film worth watching.

Off-Screen Talents:

Debutant director Divya Bhavana has come up with a good story, which would have been greatly watchable if she had a better screenplay. However, the screenplay and the pacing of the film are all over the place, with the first half especially being very slow. Some scenes even seem too stretched out, which could have been rectified.

The cinematography of the movie is decent, but the background score and songs are highly passable and forgettable. Had the music been better, the film could have probably turned out better too.

The production values are good, and the editing could have been crisper.

Plus Points:

  • Production values
  • cinematography

Minus Points:

  • Lagging first half
  • Routine screenplay
  • Poor narration

Verdict: While O Saathiya may have a good premise, its execution and narration are poorly done. Moreover, with no recognizable cast being a part of the film, it becomes completely unappealing.
